Noonday, practicing what they preach

I felt like I should follow up my last post of realistic cynicism with one that will restore a little bit of hope in humanity. I went to lunch last week with my friend Heather Avis (For those of you don't know Heather, she's an incredible human which deserves another post in itself). We were talking about business and she introduced me to a brand Noonday, which I'm ashamed to say I didn't really know about. I'm sure most of you are like "yeah, they're freaking amazing, how are you just now realizing this?"

Anyhoo, for those of you that are like me and just discovering this company, let me tell you a little about them. They work with artisans, helping them grow their own businesses in some of the worlds most vulnerable places, including Guatemala. You all know that is where my heart is, so when I see intelligent women like Jessica Honegger (founder) creating jobs and businesses with artisans, I have to share the love!

Jessica and Noonday empower people with respect and opportunity who otherwise might not have experienced that. Noonday has provided the means for over 1,700 woman to become ambassadors who share the artisan love. They give 10% of adoption trunk show sales to help children come home to their forever families.

I'm usually very skeptical of "do good" business and how much of it is actually true, but when a personal friend who has first hand experience vouches for them, I believe it. Jessica, we applaud you and the work you're doing! Thank you for caring and changing lives, one accessory at a time.

much love,

Tory
