Once Ixchel Triangle has a 100% hand woven Huipil to work with, it takes a team of Mayan men, with nothing but their bare hands and a few sewing machines, 4 hours to construct a bag. The huipils are individually washed, and the leather is stained and cut. A sewing machine is only used during the final stage of making our bags to sew the leather trim to the Huipil. Each bag is additionally signed by the maker. You've heard it said that it takes a village to raise a child, well the same goes for making these beautiful bags.
